It’s Been an Award Winning Year
In July, York County Natural Gas Authority received four national awards from the American Public Gas Association (APGA) and the Southern Gas Association (SGA) recognizing the Authority for excellence in the areas of safety, emergency management, operations, and marketing.
The APGA is a not-for-profit nationwide association for municipal & community-owned natural gas utilities with over 700 members in 37 states and awarded YCNGA with the Public Gas System Achievement Award for its efforts and contributions in the area of emergency management. The Authority was also recognized with the APGA Safety Award for maintaining the highest safety standards within the system, community, and industry. In addition, the Authority won the esteemed APGA Marketing & Sales Award for its Natural Gas Education & Safety Awareness Program which raises awareness of natural gas and educates students on the development, distribution, and end-use of natural gas in homes, businesses, transportation, and manufacturing.
The Southern Gas Association (SGA) selected YCNGA from among other significantly larger pipeline operators the 2017 SGA Emergency Management Award. A panel of judges representing the natural gas industry selected YCNGA for this award based on its program for response to gas emergencies and for its commitment to training emergency responders.
