How the 811 Process Works:

• 1. Call or Click: Contact SC811 by phone or sc811.com at least 3 business days before digging.

• 2. Share Details: Describe your project location and digging plans.

• 3. Wait for Marking: Utility companies will mark the location of underground lines using color-coded paint or flags.

• 4. Respect the Marks: Use the markings to dig safely around buried lines.

• 5. Dig with Care: Hand dig near markings and always follow state guidelines.
